Designed and facilitated by Just Us Dance Theatre, the programme explores how international dialogue can shape movement, identity, and performance practice.
Throughout the programme, from its inception through to the tour, the artists receive support and mentorship from the lead partners to help with funding applications, artistic input, industry support input, producing support, mentorship support.
The focus of New & Notable is collaboration - four artists collaborating together to create one work which will be presented in the UK and Brazil.
This collaboration holds transformative potential: it challenges artists to step outside of localised creative cycles and engage in meaningful international co-creation. Participants gain tools to scale their ideas across borders, while partners develop deeper networks between the UK and Brazil’s vibrant Hip Hop communities.
With strategic support, Just Us Dance Theatre envisions New & Notable scaling up into an annual or bi-annual initiative with reciprocal programming, festival touring, and organisational collaboration with institutions across Latin America and Europe.
